In 2015 we bought a farm in the middle of nowhere. The house was only two years old and so all we had to do was curate it to our style. I am not a lover of the modern farmhouse style, and so I truly had to work with what was here, along with a customer furniture builder, and filter my personal style through what farmhouse meant to me. And it ain't white! I grew up in a farmhouse, and there was no white to be seen! I have nothing against white... in fact my bed frame is a gorgeous whitewash, but running a farm does not scream white to me. My kitchen is red, and that is what sold me on the house! I like color. To me, farms are colorful. And so I used a palette of red, brown, tan and green to create the look you find below.
